Scripted Ink. is thrilled to announce funding for Vestal Virgins, an original drama series from Pathways Prime writer, Ellie Beaumont.

Ellie is one of Australia’s most successful television writers and showrunners, with credits including House Husbands, The Secret Life of Us, Wildside and the new SBS crime series Dead Lucky, starring Rachel Griffiths.

“I am so grateful to Scripted Ink for allowing me to explore such a bold, international idea,” said Ellie, “Vestal Virgins is a female story I’ve always wanted to tell.”

Vestal Virgins is a reimagining of ancient Rome from a female perspective. A story of friendship, betrayal, sisterhood and female empowerment set against the epic backdrop of Imperial Rome.

Ellie has collaborated with script editors Drew Proffitt (House Husbands, Cleverman), Matt Ford (Love Is A Four-Letter Word, Hiding) and Rebecca Greensill (Home and Away, Tender) in delivering a pilot script and series bible for Vestal Virgins.
