Catgod enters third round of Scripted Ink. funding!

Scripted Ink is delighted to announce a third stage of development funding for the cross-platform comedy CatGod. This funding will allow creators Chris Phillips and Chris Burke to create an animation for the series which they intend to screen online.

‘We are very excited about the continued support of Scripted Ink. for our project,’ said Chris Phillips, ‘Through the development process we’ve discovered that this project has the potential to span a number of platforms including a half hour series, a feature film and even a musical for the stage’.

In their roles as producers of the project, Chris and Chris have hired animator Mikey Owen, sound designer Shane Vancuylenberg (Sugar Mountain Sound), film composer Helen Grimley (Red Christmas, Cargo) and comedy actors David Collins (Umbilical Brothers) and Guy Edmonds (A Moody Christmas, Black Comedy) to contribute their skills to this next stage of CatGod’s development.

‘The comedy TV landscape has changed a lot since the rise of Youtube and other video streaming websites,’ said Chris Burke, ‘DIY comedy content makers have been able to find audiences, and subsequent investment, for their low budget, non-mainstream comedy projects by releasing online’.

In the words of Catgod himself – “what we’ve created here people, is a brand. Time to sell it to the masses”.
